The story begins with the early years of the young genius John Nash. He begins to develop paranoid schizophrenia, accompanied by hallucinations, and progresses until it jeopardizes his work and relationships with his wife and friends.
The film has been criticized for inaccurately portraying some aspects of Nash’s life on screen. The film presented his hallucinations as both visual and auditory, whereas in life they were exclusively auditory.
